As the mother of a child who was immunocompromised for two years due to chemotherapy (which destroyed all of the antibodies she had developed from the vaccines she had gotten, so we had to have her fully re-immunized when the chemo ended), I think it's completely reasonable that people should keep their unvaccinated children away from those who have compromised immune systems.

With my chronic illnesses, my doctors (regular old Western medicine GPs) advise me not to get flu shots. However, my husband will be getting both seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccines, because he has this crazy idea that even though he never actually gets sick, he still might be able to pass a virus on to me and he'd like to minimize that chance.
If only we could somehow inoculate the general public with this zany belief.
